A browser-based virtual terminal may let authorized staff initiate a payment without a countertop device. It needs a specific merchant-account approval and careful handling of customer information.

01

Define the sales channel

Phone, mail, invoice, and card-present sales have different fees, evidence, and risk. We identify which staff may initiate transactions and which methods the provider allows.

02

Limit card-data exposure

Use only the approved hosted tools. Do not collect full card numbers through the Twin Horn contact form, email, or support notes. Follow the provider’s PCI instructions and staff permissions.

03

Close the loop

Match every invoice to an authorization, capture, receipt, refund path, and end-of-day report. Document how customers reach a person about an unfamiliar charge.

QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

Good answers make
better decisions.

Can I key a card into my own web form?

Use a provider-approved hosted or integrated method; homemade card forms create significant security and compliance obligations.

Can a field team send payment links?

Possibly, if the provider supports links for the merchant’s approved sales model.
